Bradford Power Lifting Invitational
Congratulations goes out to the Sidney Football Team who
took 1st place out of 16 teams this weekend at the Bradford Power lifting
Invitational with a total of 11,995 Pounds.
The Power Lifting Team turned in a great effort an edged out tough
Kenton Ridge and Urbana teams who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Outstanding performances were turned in by
numerous individuals. Placing in their
respective weight classes were: 145lb:
Jordan Young 4th place, Kyle Doak 5th place.
155lb: Dan Neth 4th place.
165lb: Aric Eppley 3rd place.
175lb: Phil Branscum 5th place.
185lb: Arie Thompson 2nd place.
195lb: Travis Martin 5th place.
225lb: Brendon Erb 1st place.
250lb: Tyler Jonas 1st place.
UNL: Justin Griffis 2nd place, Wes Eppley 4th place and Ryan Watercutter
5th.

A few of the highlights for the boys were: Arie Thompson’s 2nd place finish of 920 total lbs in the 185 lb weight class with lifts of 215 lbs in the bench, 300 lbs in the squat and 405 lbs in the dead lift. Justin Griffis’s 2nd place finish of 1255 total lbs in the UNL weight class with lifts of 305 lbs in the bench, 475 lbs in the squat and 475 lbs in the dead lift. Brendon Erb’s 1st place finish of 1320 total lbs in the 225 lb weight class with lifts of 285 lb in the bench, 510 lb in the squat and 525 lb in the dead lift. Tyler Jonas’s 1st place finish of 1390 total lbs in the 250 lb weight class with lifts of 305 lb in the bench, 550 lbs in the squat and 535 lbs in the deadlift.
Congratulations also goes out to the Sidney Girls Power
Lifting Team Who took 2rd place at the Bradford Power Lifting
Invitational. The Girls had a strong
showing in their second meet of the year by finishing 2nd out of 7 teams. Outstanding performances were turned in by
numerous individuals. Placing in their
respective weight classes were: Kyla
Stratton 6th Place, Sasha Hoover 4th Place, Jessica Griffis 4th Place, Kristen
Roby 2nd Place, Stephanie Miller 2nd Place amd Allison Cavinder 1st Place. A few of the highlights for the girls were:
Kristen Roby’s 2nd place finish in her weight class (95 lbs in the bench, 230
lbs in the squat and 255 lbs in the dead lift). Stephanie Miller 2nd place finish in her weight class (70 lbs in
the bench, 135 lbs in the squat and 165 lbs in the dead lift). Allison Cavinder’s 1st place finish in her
weight class (90 lbs in the bench, 160 lbs in the squat and 220 lbs in the dead
lift).
The Football Players and the Power lifting Team will be
back in action on February 24th when they travel to Triad HS for the Annual
Triad Power Lifting Invitational.
Congratulations goes out to the Sidney Football Team who

Contest. The Power Lifting Team turned
in a great effort for their first competition of the year and finished first
out of the 12 Teams with a total of 7,835 Pounds and beating out the 2nd Place
team by 200 Pounds. Outstanding
performances were turned in by numerous individuals. Placing in their respective weight classes in the Freshman /
Sophomore Division were: Nic Waters – 2nd Place in 145 lb Weight Class, Dan
Neth – 2nd Place in 155 lb, Aric Eppley – 2nd Place in 165 lb, Arie Thomspon –
2nd Place in 175 lb, Phil Branscum – 1st Place in 185 lb, Travis Martin – 1st
Place in 195 lb, Wes Eppley – 2nd Place in the Unlimited Class and Jay Lee –
3rd Place in the Unlimited. Placing in
their respective weight classes in the Junior / Senior Division were: Austin
McVety – 1st Place in 165 lb Weight
Class, Mark Ahrens – 2nd Place in the 175 lb, Matt Dieringer – 3rd Place in the 175 lb, Jon Sybert – 1st Place
in the 185 lb, Bruce Bell – 3rd Place in the 185 lb, Brendon Erb – 1st Place in
the 210 lb and Ryan Watercutter – 3rd Place in the Unlimited Class and set a
new Meet record in the Dead Lift.

3rd Place, Stepanie Miller – 2nd Place and Sasha Hoover – 1st Place.
