District Classic Meet
Sidney 23rd at 35
For the second year in a row Sidney High has produced the winner
of the 50 Free for the Classic, last year it was senior Derick Roe
and this year it is junior Paul Miller. He was the number one seed
at Trotwood and one of the top seeds in the district. He won the
prelim at Trotwood with a 21.79, his personal best time of the season
and then went down to Keating that evening and swam a 21.68 for
the finals and won it. It was a dandy race as the young man next
to him was right with him and a quick finish by Paul won it. He
won the 100 Free on Sunday at prelims with a 49:06 and was seeded
4th for the finals that night. He was swimming a great race but
his goggles filled at the last turn but that did not hold him back
too much as he lowered his time to a 48.91 and finished 4th as he
was seeded. Paul had a great weekend finishing 1st in the 50 and
100 Free at prelims then 1st and 4th in the finals. Along with that
he finished 9th in the 100 Back and 100 Breast in the prelims with
personal best times in both. He also anchored the 200 Medley relay,
the 200 Free and 400 Free relay. The 200 Medley relay with Jason
Arnett, Parker Jordan and Andrew Frantz finished 7th in the prelims.
The 200 and 400 relays had Jason Arnett, Parker Jordan and Josh
Ward along with Paul. The 200 finished 4th and the 400 finished
6th. The 400 Medley relay with Josh Ward, Yang Liu, Andrew Frantz
and Dustin Hawkins finished 13th. Jason Arnett finished 14th in
the 100 Back and 17th in the 50 Free. Click
