Coach Tony Brown is a 1984 graduate of Sidney High School, also was a 4 year letterman in Tennis won the GMVC championship in 1983 along the way setting a school record of 23 straight victories without a loss.

Coach Brown is active in the community he works at ODOT, runs the concession stand at Flanagan Park, board member of the United Way, and also Dj's. Coach Brown stresses the importance of fundamentals an team unity, Tennis looks to have a bright future under Coach Tony Brown.

May 15, 2010 - SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT
District Qualifier: Austin Folck. The Sectionals were played last Wednesday at Troy, got the 1st round in, and then moved to Dayton Center Courts. The first doubles team of Jarrett Brulport and Dan Temple advanced to the 2nd round before getting defeated, but Austin Folck advanced to the districts with his top 4 finish, in the sectionals. He then played Saturday, and gained the second seed in the districts in Troy part of the sectional, with a 3 set win (6-1,5-7,7-5) over vandalia Butler, but then right after lost to Troy 6-4,6-1. The boys tennis team ends strong with 3 straight wins in there last 3 matches our latest win last night against the Wayne Warriors, 3-2. Winning were Austin Folck at 1st singles and the 1st doubles team of Jarrett Brulport/Dan Temple, and the 2nd doubles team of Gage Woolley/ Brett Rowley. In JV action they lost 4-2, but winning were The doubles team of Josh Martin/Sean Brown, and in his first singles win, Justin Subler winning 8-4 in a pro-set.

Well the Tennis Team again came up short, 4-1. Winning for 8 in a row, was Austin Folck winning 6-2,6-3. In JV action the doubles team of Josh Martin/Sean Brown won for their 4th in a row, and a big congratulations for the doubles team of Tyler Olson/Derrick Brisker for there 1st win of the year. The JV also lost, by a score of 3-2! The team is now 0-8.

The Boys Tennis Team lost tonight to Lebanon 3-2 in a hard fought match, we're still trying to find that winning combination, trying different things eventually we'll get there. Winning for varsity were Austin Folck and Dan Temple 6-2, 6-1 and 7-6,6-3. In JV action the doubles team of Josh Martin/Sean Brown won for there 2nd in a row, but unfortunately the JV team lost 7-1 both varsity and JV are 0-6, but we are getting better with each match!

The Boys Tennis Team dropped a 4-1 verdict tonight as the Vikings of Miamisburg came to town. Winning was Austin Folck 6-2, 6-1 for his 5th win in as many tries. 2nd singles Dan Temple lost 4-6, 2-6. Donovan Gregory lost 3-6, 1-6. In doubles Gage Wooley and Conner Kleman lost 0-6, 1-6. At 2nd Doubles Brett Rowley and Jarrett Brulport lost 4-6, 0-6. In JV action Sidney also lost 3-5. Winning were the Doubles Team of Abril Galang/ Grady Hoellrich, Josh Martin/ Sean Brown, and Derrick Brisker/ Tyler Olson. All the singles in the JV lost tonight. Sidney is now 0-5.

The Sidney Boys Tennis Team shot to the top of the GWOC north conference with a convincing 4-1 triumph over Fairborn last night. Winning for the Jackets were Patrick Ho at 1st singles 6-1, 6-0 Ben Bowers at 2nd singles 6-0, 6-0 and Pranav Jayanth at 3rd singles 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. Also winning for theJackets at 1st doubleswere Josh Pellman and Donavon Gregory 7-5,4-6, 6-3. Connor Kleman and Jonathon Neville lost a tough match at 2nd doubles 0-6, 4-6.

May 12, 2007 - SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT
Austin Kleman Tennis Sectional Runner-up! Austin defeated Brad Mittlesteadt from Northmont High School in the semifinals on Saturday morning 7-6 (7-2), 6-0 to advance to the Sectional Championship match against # 1 seeded Jansen Hein from Greenville. Austin lost to Hein 4-6, 0-6 to finish runner-up in the Troy Sectional Tournament. Austin will travel to Centerville Thursday May 17th to compete in the Southwest District with a possible trip to the State Tournament May 24th in Columbus. Sidney High School Tennis Team defeated Springfield North High School 3-2 to complete an earlier match that had been postponed by rain. Winning for the Yellow Jackets were Austin Kleman, Matt Casey at singles and the doubles team of Patrick Ho and Ben Bowers. Sidney GWOC record is now 6-6 and 6-11 overall. The Yellow Jackets begin sectional play at Troy Friday May 11th.

Centerville 31, Vandalia 28, Beavercreek 17, Troy 15, Springboro 8, Northmont 3, Sidney 3, Piqua 2, Lebanon 2, North 2, Wayne 1, Xenia 1, Miamisburg 1, Fairborn 1, Fairmont 0, Trotwood 0, South 0. In GWOC tournament action the Sidney High School Tennis team captured 3 first round victories Friday at Centerville High School. Number 2 singles Matt Casey defeated Trotwood's Moses Turney 6-0, 6-2. Number 3 singles Patrick Ho defeated his Xenia opponent 6-3, 6-2. At number 2 doubles Kevin Witt and Cole DeNise defeated Trotwood's Adrian Martin and Sean Williams 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Number 1 doubles Steve Billups and Ben Bowers lost to Centerville's Kauffman and Saunders 0-6, 1-6. And in a marathon 2 hour 45 minute match number 1 singles Austin Kleman lost to Springboro's number 4 seeded Jason Britt 3-6, 7-5, 3-6. In the second round number 2 singles Matt Casey lost to Centerville's Jeremy Boll,last years GWOC player of the year 6-2, 6-0. Number 2 singles Patrick Ho lost to Beavercreek's Wang 6-0, 6-2. Number 2 doubles Kevin Witt and Cole DeNise lost to Centerville's Birdi and Metha 6-0, 6-1.

Raising his league record to 8-0 Austin Kleman won at 1st singles. Patrick Ho improved his league record to 6-2 with a win at #3 singles. Matt Casey also won at #2 singles. Austin Kleman over Brad Burkhardt 6-2, 6-1. Matt Casey over Eric Lamphar 6-1, 6-3. Patrick Ho over Ryan Whitney 6-1, 6-2. Clifton Donlinger and Pete Warner over Steve Billups and Ben Bowers 6-2, 6-1. Austin Kleman's 6-0, 6-1 victory at #1 singles was the lone bright spot for the Yellow Jacket Tennis in their 4-1 loss to a solid Celina Team. Sidney is now 4-7 on the year. Austin Kleman defeated Ethan Westgerdes 6-0, 6-1. Kyle Miller defeated Matt Casey 5-7, 6-1, 5-7. Stu Amstutz defeated Patrick Ho 4-6, 6-4, 7-5. Alex Ball and Neil Hoyzing defeated Steve Billups and Ben Bowers 6-1, 6-0. Josh Ebbing and Zack Darland defeated Kevin Witt and Pranav Jayanth 6-0, 6-0.

Sidney and Butler hooked up in a key League matchup and a big game crowd showed up to the root the Jackets on to their 11th consecutive vicotry of the season. Joe Engle battled a tight strike zone en route to his 3rd win of the season while Shane Delligatta and Nathan Strome led the offensive attack. Nathan belted two doubles and drove in two runs while Shane belted a 3 run go ahead homer in the 5th. Jude Deloyed continued his strong work in relief picking up his 4th save of the season. Sidney returns to action Saturday with a twin bill at St. Marys.

The Sidney High School Boys tennis team raised their league record to 4-3 and their overall record to 4-6 last night with a tough 3-2 win over Trotwood. Winning for the jackets were Austin Kleman over Terry Roberts 6-1,6-1 at #1 singles. Austin remains undefeated in league play with a 7-0 record, the #1 doubles team of Steve Billups and Ben Bowers over Chris Watson and Justin Lyons 6-1,6-1, and in a grueling 2 hour 45 min marathon match Patrick Ho defeated Moses Turney 7-5(7-4),4-6,6-1. #2 doubles team of Cole Denise and Pranav Jayanth lost to Adrian Martin and Sean Williams 4-6,2-6. #3 singles was forfeited.

It was a 5-0 sweep for the boys tennis team last night as they rolled over Springfield South. Austin Kleman, Patrick Ho and Steve Billups at singles and the 1st doubles team of Kevin Witt and Ben Bowers all had decisive wins. And winning their first varsity match ever at 2nd doubles were Cole Denise and Pranav Jayanth. With the win, the Jackets improved their league record to 2-3.

Steve Billups and Ben Bowers won at number one doubles.

Results: 1st singles: Austin Kleman defeated Travis Duckro 6-4, 7-5. 2nd singles: Matt Casey defeated Glenn Bond 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. 3rd singles: Derek Bowden defeated Troy Collins 6-3, 7-6 (8-6). Scott Scheu and Aaron Stover split sets at 1st doubles losing the lst set 4-6 but coming back a winning the 2nd set 7-6(8-60 but rain cancelled out the 3rd set. Matt and Shawn Gleason lost at 2nd doubles.
