Wade New
Head Softball Coach

Coach Wade New is entering into his seventh season as the Jacket Fastpitch Softball Head Coach. He has previous coached Jr. High Football (5 years), Jr. High Girls Basketball (3 yrs), and Freshman Girls Basketball (1 year).

Coach New graduated from Sidney in 1989. While at Sidney, he played Basketball and Baseball. Coach New played Basketball 2 years at Edison State. He earned his degree from Wright State University in 2000 and his Masters Degree from Marygrove College in 2004. This is Coach New’s tenth year of teaching social studies at Sidney Middle School. Coach New and his wife Stacey have 3 children, Taylor, Madison, and Samuel.

During the last several seasons the Softball program has been on the rise in the GWOC, finishing in the top three the last several years. The program’s success was capped off with its first GWOC North Championship last season. Coach New expects a great season as the Jackets defend their GWOC title, with a returning core of starters and a group of new, young players. It should be another exciting season for Jacket fastpitch at Aschenbach Field

The Jackets dropped a tough one to Wayne last night 7-4. This game turned into a slugfest, with the two teams combining for 22 hits, 7 of which were doubles, and one a 2-run homerun by Sidney's Brooke Lambert. The Jackets return to action this afternoon when Butler comes to town. This key GWOC North matchup has championship implications. Come out tonight and root on the Jackets.

The Lady Jackets rolled again Monday night with a huge GWOC North win at Butler, 2-0. The Jacket defense was on top of its game again against the Aviators. Offensively the Jackets were led by Kristen Roby, Emily Ocke, Brooke Lambert, and Kerri Adkins. This win brings the Jackets' record to 8-6 overall and 6-3 in the GWOC North.

A combination of shaky defense and quiet bats made for a long night for the Lady Jackets as they dropped a key GWOC North game to Piqua, 7-2. Sidney could only manage 4 hits off of Indian pitching. Emily Ocke continues to manufactor runs by knocking in both Sidney runs. The Jackets are now 6-6 overall, and 4-3 in the GWOC. Sidney returns to action Friday when they travel to Piqua for the second match up of these GWOC rivals.

The Lady Jackets got a key GWOC North victory last night, 7-4 against Troy. The offensive attack was led once again by Emily Ocke and Kristen Roby, who both had 2 hits apiece. Ocke also drove in 3 runs. Dara Wildermuth and Brooke Lambert both doubled for the Jackets. This brings their record to 6-5 overall and 4-2 in the GWOC North. Sidney is back in action Thursday versus Piqua at Sidney High School.

The Lady Jackets notched their fourth win of the season last night by defeating the Wildcats of Springfield, 9-0. The Jackets offensive attack was lead by Hilary Davis and Dara Wildermuth, who each had 3 hits a piece. Emily Ocke delivered the biggest jolt when she hit a 3-run homerun in the top of the fifth. Kristen Roby pitched a gem, only allowing one hit, while striking out 8.

The Lady Jackets were plagued by errors in a heartbreaking loss to Miamisburg last night. The Jackets lead 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh, but the Vikings mounted a 2-out rally that tied the score. The Jackets were unable to score in the top of the eighth, but the Vikings again struck with 2 outs to score the winning run. Lindsey Ciriegio had 3 hits including an RBI double and Brittney Koester also had an RBI double. The Jackets are back in action tonight at Troy.

The Lady Jackets Softball Team battled Lima Shawnee for 10 innings last night. The game was suspended after the 10th due to darkness and rain. The score was tied, 2-2. The Jackets scored in the fifth on a Kira Lauth RBI single. The Jackets came to bat in the top of the seventh trailing 2-1. Senior Emily Ocke smacked the second pitch she saw deep over the left field fence for a game tying homerun. Kristen Roby pitched a gem of a game, striking out 10 and only walking one. The Jackets host Xenia on Thursday, in the first GWOC game of the season.

Sidney scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to beat Miamisburg in Division I sectional play. Hillary Fishbaugh tied it when she scored on a wild pitch, and Brandi Eustache singled home the game-winner. Kristen Roby (18-5) earned the win. Sidney advances to play Edgewood.

The Yellow Jackets finished out league play with a dramatic, 1-0, extra inning victory over Butler. With one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, Stephanie Rickert (1-3, run, BB) and Kristen Roby (1-3, BB) both drew walks, then Brandi Eustache (2-4, 2B, RBI) came to the plate and drove a 1-1 pitch to the fence in right-centerfield to drive in Rickert. Roby (17-5 record) pitched a gem, striking out 10 and only walking 1. The Jackets reached the first of their preseason goals, a 20 win season. Sidney is back in action tonight as they host Miamisburg in their first sectional tournament game. Sidney is now 20-6, 6-4 GWOC North.

The Jackets got back on the winning track last night by defeating the Centerville Elks, 7-6. The Jacket bats were able to overcome some sloppy defensive play (4 errors). Sidney pounded out 13 hits in the winning effort. The offense was led by Hilary Davis (3-3, 2B), Kristen Roby (4-4, 2 runs, RBI), Elyse Roddy (2-4, 2B, SB, 2 RBI's), and Stephanie Rickert (2-4, 2B, SB). The Jackets finish out GWOC play tonight in a makeup game with Vandalia Butler at Aschenbach Field.

The offense was led by Brandi Eustache (2-4, run, 2B, 3B, RBI), Lindsey Ciriegio (1-3, RBI), Tiffany Barhorst (1-2, 2B, run), Emily Ocke (1-4, 3B, 2 RBI's), and Dara Wildermuth (1-3, run, 2B, RBI). Elyse Roddy (1-3, 2 runs) and Stephanie Rickert (1-4, 2 runs, RBI) each had 2 stolen bases. Kristen Roby notched her 14th win of the season, striking out 9 and allowing only 4 hits. The Jackets are now 17-3, 5-2 GWOC North. They are back in action tonight versus arch rival Piqua at Aschenbach Field.

The Jackets kept things rolling last night as they defeated Springfield North, 11-0 in five innings. Kristen Roby (13-3 record) pitched a gem, striking out 5, and only allowing 2 hits. Offensively, the Jackets only managed 5 hits, but drew 10 walks. The offense was lead by Tiffany Barhorst (1-2, 2B, run, 5 RBI's), whose bases loaded double in the fourth put the game away. The Jackets are now 16-3, 4-2 GWOC North. They are back in action at home tonight against arch rival Piqua. Go Jackets.

Sidney won their 15th game of the season with a blow out win over Trotwood-Madison, 16-1. Dara Wildermuth went the distance for her first win of the season. She only allow 1 hit while striking out 7 in the five inning game. Stephanie Rickert (2-3, 2 runs, 3 RBI's), Elyse Roddy (2-2, 2 RBI's), Emily Ocke (2-3, 2 BB, RBI), and Laura Gutman (1-1, BB) lead the Jacket offense. Sidney is now 15-3, 4-2 GWOC North.

The Jackets were leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth until the rains came. Instead of suspending the game, the umpires chose to make the Jackets and T-Bolts finish in terrible conditions. When it was all over, Northmont capitalized on the dismal conditions and poor judgement by the officials and came away with a 6-1 win. Kristen Roby had pitched a superb game through five inning, but the wet conditions were difficult for her to manage. Dara Wildermuth ( 2-3, 3B, 2 SB's, RBI) was the lone offensive spark for the Jackets.

The Jackets got a big boost in the GWOC North standings tonight with a huge 2-0 win over Butler. Elyse Roddy's (1-3, HR, 2 RBI's) two-run homer in the top of the first proved to be all the Jackets would need. Sidney played superb defense behind Kristen Roby (4 K's, 2 BB). Great job Jackets. The T-Bolts of Northmont come to town for a key GWOC North match-up on Monday.

The Jackets took a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning last night, and narrowly escaped with a 4-3 victory over Lima Senior. Three Jacket errors allowed the Spartans to charge back. Kerri Adkins picked up her first win on the mound. Kristen Roby came on with 2 outs in the seventh to earn the save. The Jacket offense struggled against the slow Spartan pitching, but were about to use a couple of new tricks to score the 2 insurance runs in the seventh to protect the win. Dara Wildermuth (1-3, RBI) and Stephanie Rickert's (0-2, sac, RBI) squeeze bunts scored Emily Ocke (2-3, run, RBI) and Megan Wiford (BB,run). The Jackets' record now stands at 13-2. They travel to Vandalia-Butler for a key GWOC North contest tonight.

Sidney lit up the scoreboard for Aschenbach Field Dedication night. Sidney opened up GWOC North play with a win over Trotwood-Madison, 23-0. Sidney is now 11-1 overall, 1-0 North. Sidney is back in action Monday against longtime North rival Piqua.

The Jackets notched their 10th win of the 2008 season in dramatic fashion last night at Aschenbach Field by defeating perennial powerhouse Lima Shawnee, 2-1. Brandi Eustache (1-3, HR, RBI) got things going early with a first inning homerun over the left field fence, her first of the season. Kristen Roby (10-1) pitched a monster game, allowing 4 hits, and striking out 14. Shawnee scored their lone run on back-to-back hits in the fourth. With the score knotted a 1-1 going into the bottom of the seventh, Kerri Adkins (1-3, run, 2B) led off the inning with a double to left. After a fly-out, Lindsey Ciriegio (2-3, RBI) lined a gapper into right-center, scoring Adkins on a close play at the plate. The Jackets open up GWOC North play Friday night against Trotwood-Madison. Great Win Jackets!

The Jackets notched their ninth win of the season last night by defeating a never-say-die Beavercreek ball club. The Jackets had jumped out to a comfortable 6-0 lead by the bottom of the fifth, but the Beavers used some strong hitting and Jacket errors to score 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Jacket jumped back out with 3 runs in the top of the sixth, but the Beavers weren't finished. Again, capitolizing on Jacket misques, Beavercreek scored 3 in the bottom of the inning. Kerri Adkins came in to relieve Kristen Roby in the bottom of the seventh and retired the side to seal a Jacket victory. Brandi Eustache (3-5, run, 2 RBI's), Stephanie Rickert (2-4, run, 3B), and Hilary Davis (2-2, BB, RBI) lead the offense. Kristen Roby (9-1) got roughed up in the 5th and 6th, but hung in for the win.

Sidney and Miamisburg battled to a 2-2 tie through 7 innings, but it only took two pitches in the bottom of the 8th for the Jackets to pull out the win in dramatic fashion. Elyse Roddy, with a 1-0 count, drove a towering shot over the centerfield fence for the walk off homerun. The Jackets played a great game defensively. Led by great plays by, Kerri Adkins at shortstop, Kristen Roby (8-1 record) on the mound, Tiffany Barhorst in left field, Hilary Davis in right, and Dara Wildermuth at first base. Offensively the Jackets had 8 hits, led by Roddy (2-4, HR, 2 RBI's), Roby (2-3, BB), and Adkins (1-3, RBI). The Jackets are now 8-1on the season. Sidney travels to Beavercreek on Wednesday. Great job Jackets, this was a hard fought game and a huge win.

Despite the cold weather, the Jacket bats were hot Saturday, pounding out 12 hits in a big win over Miami East, 13-3. Offensively, the Jackets were led by Kristen Roby (3-4, 4 runs), Brandi Eustache (2-4, 2 runs, 3 RBI's), Elyse Roddy (3-4, 2 runs, 4 RBI's), Emily Ocke (3-4, run, RBI). In game two Saturday, Sidney's hot hitting continued as the Jackets scored 12 runs in the third inning to put the game away early, as the Jackets defeated Bellmont High School (Bellmont, Indiana), 12-1. The offensive attack was led by Stephanie Rickert (1-2, 2 runs, 2 RBI's), Kristen Roby (2-3, 2 runs), Elyse Roddy (2-3, 2B, 2 runs, RBI), and Emily Ocke (2-3, 2B, RBI). Roby pitched her way to her 7th victory of the year. The Jackets are back in action Monday at home versus Miamisburg.

The Jackets got back to their winning ways last night, despite a 45 minute rain delay in the fourth inning, by defeating GWOC Central foe Fairborn, 4-1. The Jacket defense played a great game backing up winning pitcher Kristen Roby (5-1, 5 K's, 2 BB, 1 ER). Sidney's offense got things going in the first with Roby (1-2, run) singled and was moved to second on a Brandi Eustache (1-3) grounder. Two wild pitches later, Roby scored. In the fourth, after a Kerri Adkins (2-3, run) single and an Emily Ocke (1-3, 2B,run) double, Lindsey Ciriegio (1-2, 2 RBIs) blasted a shot to right-center to plate Kerri and Emily. Stephanie Rickert (1-3, run) scored in the fifth to seal the victory. The Jackets are now 5-1, and back in action tonight against Lehman.

The Jackets suffered the first loss of the season last night at the hands of the undefeated Fairmont Firebirds. Sidney gave up 2 runs in the first and 1 in the third. Error plagued the Jacket defense early, but they knuckled down and finished solid. Brandi Eustache continued her hot hitting, going 2-3 with a triple. The Jackets left runners on third 3 times, but couldn't score. Sidney's record falls to 4-1. They are back in action Thursday against Fairborn at Aschenbach Field.

The Jacket bats remained smokin' hot last night, as they banged out 14 hits in a 6-1 victory over GWOC Central rival, Wayne at Aschenbach Field. The Jackets scored quickly in the first inning with back-to-back two out doubles by Brandi Eustache (3-4, 2b, RBI) and Elyse Roddy (3-4, 2b, RBI). Roddy's double was followed up by a single by Kerri Adkins (2-3, RBI). Emily Ocke (1-4) and Tiffany Barhorst (2-3, SB) got things rolling with back-to-back singles in the fourth. Megan Wiford's (0-2, RBI) grounder to first scored Ocke. After Hilary Davis (0-1) was hit by a pitch, Stephanie Rickert (2-4, RBI) singled in Barhorst. Eustache knocked Davis in with another two out single. Adkins scored the final run in the fifth, after she singled as was moved around by Ocke and Barhorst. Lindsey Ciriegio's (1-1, RBI) pinch hit single plated Adkins. On the mound last night, Kristen Roby (4-0 record) was on top of her game. Kristen struck out 17 Warrior batters and allowed only 1 hit in the cross-divisional victory. The Jackets travel to Fairmont Tuesday for another GWOC cross-divisional contest.

The Yellow Jackets are now 3-0, after defeating Graham High School 6-2, in the second game of the double-header Saturday. The Jacket offense again pounded out over 10 hits in this game too, led by Stephanie Rickert (3-4, 3b, RBI), Brandi Eustache (3-4, RBI), Kerri Adkins (2-4), Emily Ocke (2-3, RBI), and Tiffany Barhorst (1-3, 2b, 2 RBI's. Once again the Jacket defense played solid, only allowing 4 hits and 1 error. Kristen Roby got her third win of the season, pitching 4 good innings. Kerri Adkins came in to relieve Roby in the 5th, retiring six straight hitters to seal the win. Sidney is back in action at Aschenbach field on Monday when the Wayne Warriors come to town. The Jackets got their second win of the season in game 1 of a double-header at Graham High School Saturday. The Jackets scored early and often in a lopsided 15-2 victory. The offense pounded out 13 hits to go along with 10 walks. The offense was lead by Stephanie Rickert, Brandi Eustache, Megan Wiford, and was capped off by Elyse Roddy's 6 RBI's and Emily Ocke's 4 RBI's. They also each doubled in the game.

The first ever Softball game at Aschenbach Field saw the Sidney Yellow Jackets open up the 2008 season with a big win over Tecumseh, 2-0. The Jackets got things going in the third inning when Brandi Eustache's 2-out single scored Kristen Roby, who had singled and swiped two bases to get into scoring position. Sidney scored again in the bottom of the sixth when Elyse Roddy double and stole third. She came in to score when Kerri Adkin's blooper was dropped for an error. The Jacket offense was lead by Stephanie Rickert 1-3 (triple), Elyse Roddy 1-3 (double), Brandi Eustache 1-3 (RBI), Kristen Roby 1-3, 2 stolen bases, and Tiffany Barhorst 2 walks, 2 stolen bases. The Jackets stole a total of 7 stolen bases on the night. Sidney (1-0) is back in action on Friday at Springfield North.

May 17, 2007 - DISTRICT FINAL
Sidney 0 Colerain 2
The Sidney Yellow Jackets' great season ended Thursday with a 2-0 loss in the District Finals. They battled the #4 state-ranked Colerain Cardinals for 5 scoreless innings, but in the top of the sixth, Colerain scored 2 runs. Sidney's bats were stiffled most of the game by the Colerain's pitcher. Sidney threatened a couple of times, but were unable to come up with a clutch hit or ground ball to score runners. The Jackets played fantastic defense behind Roby's pitching. Sidney ends the season with the impressive record of 18-7. Great Season Jackets!

Sidney defeated Newton last night, 12-7, in a game that featured 30 hits and 9 errors between the two teams. Both teams are still alive in their respective district finals. Sidney pounded out 18 hits, including 4 triples. Kristen Roby, Kerri Adkins, and Dara Wildermuth all pitched for the Jackets. Sidney's record stands at 18-6. The Jackets will play at Lakota East High School in the district finals game vs. Cincinnati Colerain today at 4pm. Good luck Jackets! BELIEVE, BELIEVE, BELIEVE!

The Sidney Yellow Jacket Softball team are SECTIONAL CHAMPS after defeating the Troy Trojans, 2-1 at Centerville Saturday. Brandi Eustache's 2-run homer in the first inning proved to be all they needed. Abby Steinke had a double for the Jackets. Sidney's record now stands at 17-6. They are back in tournament action Thursday against Colerain. The game will be played at Lakota East High School.

May 10, 2007 - SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT
Sidney 2 Piqua 1

Sidney defeated Piqua Thursday night, 2-1, in D 1 sectional play. Sidney's two runs in the bottom of the first inning proved to be all they needed. After Stephanie Rickert walked and stole second, Brandi Eustache laced an RBI triple to left-centerfield. She came in to score when an Elyse Roddy pop-up was dropped by the Indians' shortstop. Kristen Roby pitched a gem, striking out 9 and only allowing 3 hits.

The Jackets finished the regular season with a win at Miami East, 5-1. The Jackets banged out 10 hits in this tournament tune-up game. Elyse Roddy and Kerri Adkins both had 2 hits a piece. Hilary Davis knocked in Emily Ocke for the game winning RBI in the top of the sixth inning. Sidney finishes with a record of 15-6, 6-4 GWOC North. Tournament play begins Thursday against Piqua. The game will be played on Houston's home diamond. Good Luck Jackets.

The Jackets got back on track with win at Trotwood-Madison last night, 15-5. Kristen Roby, Brandi Eustache, Kerri Adkins, Abby Steinke, Erin EnYart, and Cindy Hemmelgarn led the offensive attack. Kerri Adkins pitched her way to her second win of the season. The Jackets are now 14-5, 6-3 GWOC North. They are back in action tonight against Northmont in the final GWOC contest of the season.

The mighty Jacket bats went silent last night in a 1-0 loss to Butler. Sidney managed only 1 hit against the Aviators. The Jackets' hopes for a GWOC North title slipped away with the loss. Their record drops to 13-5, 5-3 GWOC North. They are back in action tonight at Trotwood-Madison.

The Jackets move to 13-4, 5-2 GWOC North by defeating Piqua by the score of 9-2 Friday night. The Jackets offense continued to roll as they pounded out 12 hits including Elyse Roddy's monster homerun over the left field fence. Kristen Roby, Kerri Adkins, Lindsey Ciriegio, and Abby Steinke each had 2 hits for the Jackets. Steinke had 4 RBIs for the game. Roby pitched a great game, striking out 8, and walking only 2. The Jackets stay in the hunt for the GWOC North title with this win.

Sidney's bats were smoking against Troy last night, banging out a season-high 16 hits, 6 of which were for extra bases. The Jackets avenged an earlier loss to the Trojans, by defeating them last night, at home, 16-6. Stephanie Rickert (2-4, 2 runs), Elyse Roddy (2-4, 2 runs, Homerun, 4 RBIs), Kerri Adkins (2-4, 2 runs, 2 triples, 2 RBIs), Emily Ocke (3-4, 2 runs, 3 RBIs), Lindsey Ciriegio (2-4, 1 run, 1 RBI), and Abby Steinke (3-4, 1 run, triple) lead the offensive attack. Kristen Roby went the distance on the mound to pick up her 11th win of the year. Last night's win is 6 in a row for the Jackets. Sidney upped their record to 12-4, 4-2 GWOC North.

The Jackets' winning streak was stretched to 5 games after knocking off the GWOC North leading Northmont T-Bolts last night by the score of 1-0. For six innings Northmont's Fisher and Sidney's Roby (7 K's, BB) dueled on the mound. In the top of the seventh, after a strikeout, Kerri Adkins singled to center. Emily Ocke then drives in the lone run on a rocket-shot double to right centerfield. The defense held in the bottom of the inning with great plays turned in by Hilary Davis and Brandi Eustache. The Jackets are now 11-4, 3-2 GWOC North.

In the second game Saturday, Sidney pounded out 10 hits on their way to notching their tenth win of the season, defeating the Panthers of Tri-County North, 9-1. Rickert, Roby, Roddy, and Ocke led the way on offense, tallying 9 hits between them. Kerri Adkins started on the mound and pitched 4 2/3 solid innings, only giving up 1 run. Roby took over late in the fourth inning for Adkins, trailing 1-0, and proceeded to strike out 6 of the 8 batters she faced. The Jacket bats woke up in the bottom of the fourth as they scored all 9 of their runs in fourth, fifth, and sixth innings. The Jackets are now 10-4, 2-2 GWOC North. Sidney travels to Northmont Monday in a pivotal divisional contest.

In the first of two games Saturday, the Jackets jumped all over Graham for their ninth victory of the season, by the score of 9-1. The Jackets jumped right back into the GWOC North mix with a huge 3-2 win over the Aviators of Butler. Brandi Eustache was the offensive spark plug when she hit her first homerun of the season in the first inning. Kristen Roby struck out 11 and walked only 1. Kerri Adkins and Emily Ocke turned a game-saving double play in the seventh to seal the win for the Jackets. Sidney is now 8-4, 2-2 GWOC North.

Sidney's Sophomore pitcher, Kerri Adkins went the distance to notch her first win of the season, as the Jackets defeated Lima Senior 3-2. The Jackets took advantage of each base hit and were aggressive on the base paths, tallying a season-high 7 stolen bases (Rickert 2, Eustache 2, Ocke 1, Wiford 1, and Hemmelgarn 1). Brandi Eustache continues her hot-hitting, going 2-3, w/2 RBIs. The Jacket up their record to 7-4 overall, 1-2 GWOC North. The Aviators of Butler High School travel to Sidney Friday night in a pivotal Divisional game.

The Jackets broke a two-game losing skid last night with a 3-2 win over the SCAL powerhouse, Houston. It took 8 innings to get it done. The Jackets took advantage of a couple early errors and Kristen Roby's RBI squeeze bunt to score two runs in the 3rd inning (Hilary Fishbaugh and Abby Steinke). The Wildcats rallied in the top of the seventh when Heidi Taviano laced a two-run homerun to left off freshman pitcher, Dara Wildermuth. The score remained 2-2 until the bottom of the 8th. With one out, Kristen Roby singled to left. Brandi Eustache moved her to 2nd on a fielder's choice. Elyse Roddy stepped to the plate with 2 outs and drives a shot into left center to score Roby. The Jackets' record is now 6-3 overall, 1-1 GWOC North.

The Jackets dropped their second in a row last night to divisional rival Piqua, 7-4. The game remained close thanks to good pitching by Piqua's Byrd (10 K's, 5 BB), and Sidney's Roby (11 K's, 3 BB) until the seventh inning. Piqua rallied in the seventh for 3 runs. The Jackets loaded the bases in the seventh, but could only squeeze out 1 run. The Jackets were lead on offense by Stephanie Rickert (2-4, 2 runs, 2B, 2 SBs) and Elyse Roddy (2-4, RBI). Brandi Eustache added 2 RBIs. The Jackets' record is now 5-3, they return to action tonight against an undefeated Houston Wildcat team.

The Jackets and Versailles Tigers battled to a 1-1 tie through five innings on a cold and windy Saturday morning. The Tigers then exploded for 3 runs in the sixth, and 5 more in the seventh. The Jackets bats were cold too, only pounding out 3 hits. Elyse Roddy had an RBI triple, and Emily Ocke also tripled. The loss drops the Jackets to 5-2 (1-0 GWOC) on the year.

The Jackets open GWOC divisional play last night with a 10-0 win over Trotwood-Madison. Sophomore pitchers Kristen Roby and Kerri Adkins combined to pitch a 5 inning no-hitter. Roby struck out 7 of the 9 hitters she faced. Offensively the Jackets were lead by Emily Ocke (2-3,double, 2 RBIs), Brandi Eustache (2-3,3 RBIs), and Abby Steinke (1-2, double). The Jackets are now 5-1 (1-0, GWOC).

The Miamisburg Vikings jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning last night, but the young Jacket team didn't give up. The Jackets chipped away and scored 2 runs in the 2nd when Stephanie Rickert knocked in Hilary Davis and Abby Steinke in. In the third the Jackets tallied 2 more runs on an Emily Ocke double that scored Cindy Hemmelgarn and Lindsey Ciriegio. In the bottom of the sixth the Vikings tied it up with a 2 out homerun. The Jacket didn't flinch as they scored the winning run in the top of the seventh after Stephanie Rickert singled and scored on a Brandi Eustache double. The Jackets are now 4-1 and play at home Wednesday against a tough Beavercreek team. Congratulations ladies on a great game.

The Jacket moved their record to 3-1 on the year after defeating the Wayne Warriors 4-1 in non-divisional GWOC action Friday night. The Jacket offense, led by Brandi Eustache and Stephanie Rickert, pounded out 9 hits. Kerri Adkins, Brandi Eustache, and Emily Ocke all had RBIs for the Jackets.

The Jackets got a huge non-divisional GWOC win last night against North, 1-0. The Jackets scored in the bottom of the 2nd when Elyse Roddy led off the inning with a triple to right field. Kerri Adkins knocked in the RBI on a fielder's choice. The defense played well, led by Brandi Eustache, Hilary Davis, and Stephanie Rickert. North threated in the 7th with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Stephanie Rickert sealed the win with a circus, game-saving catch in centerfield. The Jackets are now 2-1.

The Jackets ran into a buzz saw at Lima Shawnee last night, losing 8-2. Brandi Eustache continued her hot hitting going 2 for 4, with 2 doubles. Freshman Lindsey Ciriegio was 1 for 3 with a double. Kristen Roby struck out 10 in the loss. The Jackets are back at home tonight verses Springfield North. The JV's lost 6-2.

The Jackets opened up the 2007 Fastpitch season with a 2-1 victory over the Arrows of Tecumseh. The Jackets and the Arrows both scored in the first inning and the score remained tied until the bottom of the fifth. Kristen Roby started things off with a two out single. Brandi Eustache followed up with a double to left field. Both Roby and Eustache had two hits a piece and Eustache finished with two RBI's. Roby was the winning pitcher, striking out nine and walking only two.

The Jackets finished off the league schedule with a huge, come-from-behind victory against Troy tonight. Trailing 4-2, with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Kristi Burns stepped to the plate. With Stephanie Rickert on second and Brandi Green on first, Burns ripped a game-tying triple. The Jacket defense shut the Trojans down in the top of the eighth inning. In the bottom of the inning, Brandy Eustache led off with a double to left. Abby Zimmerman sacrificed her to third. With one out, Danielle Green yanked the first pitch she looked at, in to left field to drive in the winning run. The Jackets had 12 hits, 5 going for extra bases. Brandi Green, Brandy Eustache, and Kristi Burns each had doubles. Burns and Elyse Roddy each had a triple to add to the Jacket offensive attack. The Jackets end league play with a respectable 7-5 record. Their overall record stands at 12-8.

Sidney once again battled Fairmont in a one run game. The Firebirds scored 2 early runs in the second inning. Abby Zimmerman scored for the Jackets in the fifth inning, off an RBI sacrifice bunt from Danielle Green, to pull the score to 2-1. The Jackets had Brandi Green on third base in the sixth, but couldn't get her in. The final score was 2-1. Sidney is now 11-8 overall, and 6-5 in the GWOC.

The Jacket offense was capped off in the fifth inning when Kristi Burns blasted the first pitch she looked at over the 210 foot fence for a 2-run homerun. Tori Trabue allowed just one run on five hits.

Shawnee did their damage in the third inning, scoring 4 runs. Brandi Green, Kristi Burns, and Emily Ocke each had a hit for the Jackets. The final score was 4-2. The loss bring Sidney's record to 6 wins and 3 losses.

The Jackets got their first GWOC win Thursday night in dramatic, comeback fashion. Trailing in the fourth 8-0, to Xenia, the Jackets began chipping away. Sidney scored two runs in the fourth, three in the fifth, and five in the sixth. The sixth inning rally was capped off by Kristi Burns' three-run homerun. Elyse Roddy scored the winning run when Brandy Eustache tripled. Tori Trabue picks up her fourth win in relief. Great game Jackets!

The Jackets lost a heart-breaker to the Butler Aviators, 2-1. Sidney's defense was excellent, committing no errors and was highlighted by Danielle Green's exceptional play in the third inning. The Jackets' offense was led by seniors Kristi Burns and Tori Trabue, each had two hits for the Jackets. Stephanie Rickert scored the lone run on a Brandi Green RBI. The Jackets are now 4-2, 0-2 in the GWOC.

Sidney 11 Lima Senior 6
The Sidney Yellowjackets upped their record to 4-1 with a big win over Lima Senior. Tori Trabue pitch four strong inning and picked up her third win. Kristen Roby came on in the fifth inning to shut the door. Danielle Green had two of the Jackets six hits. Aggressive base running was the key again as the Jacket stole four more bases (B. Green, K. Burns, S. Rickert, & K. Adkins).

The Jackets scored early and often in the second game. Sidney pounded out 22 hits, on their way to a lopsided, 15-4 victory. Kristin Roby picks up the win in her first varsity start. Stephanie Rickert, (2-3, 2 runs, 5 stolen bases, 1 RBI), Brandi Green (3-5, 2 runs, double, 2 RBIs), Kristi Burns (4-5, 4 runs, double, 1 stolen base, 2 RBIs), Elyse Roddy (4-5, 2 runs, 2 RBIs), Tori Trabue (4-5, 3 doubles, 1 RBI), and Kristin Roby (1-3, 2 stolen bases, 2 SAC, 1 RBI) led the Jacket offensive attack.

The Jackets picked up two big wins Saturday at Graham. Tori Trabue gave up four early runs, but rebounded to shut down Graham in the first game, 6-4. Offensively, the Jackets chipped away at the Graham lead, led by Freshman, Kristen Roby. She was 2-2, with 3 stolen bases and 2 RBIs. Brandy Eustache was 2-4, with a double and triple, Trabue was 2-4 with a double, and Junior Danielle Green scored twice for the Jackets.

Sidney just couldn't get started against a strong Northmont team. The Jackets dropped the GWOC league opener to the T-bolts, 3-0. Sophomore Brandy Eustache tripled for the Jackets.
